My name is Tom Melton and I am a 20 year old student currently attending Beloit College. I work for the football team there in a number of capacities, most notably as the primary film guy for all of their games (home and away). This involves filming the game and then uploading, cutting and matching the film up with the appropriate down, distance, etc. from the play by play. Then during the offseason I will look at film from the past season and look for blocking schemes, defensive fronts, WR alignments, etc. So they keep me busy.
What I truly love to do in my free time is scouting. I watch a lot of college football whether it the season is going or not so I can scout players who may one day be NFL prospects if they aren’t already. I watch as many games as I can of that player, take notes and then compile a scouting report when my opinion of the prospect has been solidified. Last year I wrote 87 scouting reports and my goal is to write 100-150 this year. It will be interesting to see if I accomplish that goal, but I think I can. Naturally all of the reports that I write will be posted on this blog.
Hopefully you all enjoy the blog and come back often. I work really hard on all of the reports I write, so it will be nice to share them with everyone who reads them.

Nice work. Link a few of my selections in my most recent mock to your blog. Check out Julio Jones for example.

Hey Tom,
I write for another blog (85% Sports), I was wondering if you’d be interested in setting up a link exchange? We’d put you in our blog roll. Email me if you’re interested. Thanks!

Tom, just found you & your comments on Kendall Wright. I’m a Houston Texans fan & participate on a private M.B. (Texanstalk.com). I & 2 others do annual mocks. Just 3 guys, two of us in Texas and one in North East who love college & pro. If interested, we can exchange opinions. We enjoy fun debate. Reach me steve.meloy@yahoo.com. I post on TT as “badboy”. Enjoyed your input. Steve (Nov 30, 2011)
Hey, Tom. Chris Barry here, from PowerHouse Sports. We’re doing something a bit different, and I think you and your fans would like it a lot. We created a simulation of being a real NFL GM, so you can do more than just write about the Draft, you can prove how you’d do drafting for a real team.
Check this out: http://content.powerhousegm.com/powerhouse-home-nl/
If you like it, I’d sure appreciate you sharing and helping to get the word out!
Cheers…
Chris
p.s. I like the work you’ve done here; very surprised to see that you’re a college student.
Come back to the boards! Site is looking good though man. Making my own rankings as well!
Hi Tom: The other Tom Melton here. Just discovered your site. Good insightful work, especially on the UW Dawgs. Keep it up.

Hi Tom, really good stuff on your blog here. I’m guessing someone like you is already contributing to other respected NFL Draft sites, but if you’re looking for more places to get your work/name out, we’d love to have you contribute to nflsoup.com.
If you’re interested, send me an email at kevin@soupnetworks.com.
Warm Regards,
Kevin Roberts
Hi Tom,
I stumbled across your blog by accident and I have to say its very impressive, I run a Jets website http://www.nyjetsoverthepond.com and would be more than happy too post any Scout reports on any players you think the Jets should consider etc. Feel free to contact me via the site or twitter @nyjoverthepond if interested.
Keep up the great work, wishing you all the best with your studies etc.
